Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette was presented at STUK Kunstencentrum, Leuven, in the exhibition Behind the Image | The Image Behind (on covering and uncovering media). The staging of the work involved an installation-form of the project, accompanied by a twice-daily shortwave radio broadcast, Dead Reckoning, 2009, a reading from the erased and reinscribed AMPEdS magazine.

The Dead Reckoning shortwave radio broadcast times, frequencies and details, plus recorded excerpts.
February 10th to 15th daily:
17:00h (gmt +1). On the AM band, simultaneously on 5780 kHz/52 metres and 3910 kHz/75 metres, with the latter frequency not being used on the 15th. The signal is being sent from a relay station in Western Europe directed at Eastern Europe. It is for reception primarily outside of the Leuven exhibition space.

It was made from the internet via a remote shortwave receiver in Dorset (England)
and is of the 5780kHz transmission. Duration: 25'26.

It was made from the internet via a remote shortwave receiver near Limburg
(Kleine Brogel, close to Peer), which, part-way through, includes the cross-signal
"bulldog ??? bulldog - 9, 9, 9 - bulldog ??? bulldog - 9, 9, 9, 9 ...".
20:30h (gmt +1). This shortwave transmission is on a separate frequency and is for reception primarily inside the exhibition space. Each day this signal is recorded for broadcasting on the following day, with the progressive degradation of original recording and accompanying accentuation of transmission noise.
Broadcast duration: 25mins and 10secs.
PLEASE NOTE: Transmission frequencies may change depending on the solar and weather conditions of the day. Any changes will be posted here prior to the daily transmission at 17:00h. Internet reception of the signal via online remotely controlled tuners, like on 'GlobalTuners', may be possible for those not equipped for shortwave radio reception and/or outside of the signal area.
