'Off-Site' Performances, June: Venice

As an invited collaborator for the 'off-site' component of the Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette work at this year's Venice Biennale 52nd International Exhibition of Art, Ti Parks will be presenting a series of performances - 'performontages' as the artist calls them - twice a day in public spaces across Venice from June 11 to 13, 2007.

Born in England in 1939, Ti Parks studied at the Slade School in London. He lived in Australia between 1964 and 1975 when he returned to England. He now lives and works in London.

Parks' has held regular one-man shows since the early 1960s and has been included in many important survey shows in England, France and Australia including the 8th Paris Biennale in 1973 and the Sydney Biennale in 1976.

In the last few years, Ti Parks has shown in a survey show of Artists Books at Tate Britain in London, Field Work - Australian Art 1968-2000 at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Monash University Collection - Four Decades of Collecting, Pitch Your Own Tent, and Before the Body - Matter, all at the Monash University Museum of Art.

Parks' work has been purchased by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Gallery, London, the Australian National Collection in Canberra and other major public collections in Australia.

Ti Parks is represented by Charles Nodrum Gallery in Melbourne.
